Colombia forward Jhon Duran has signed with Fenerbahce for a year-long loan, just six months after his transfer from Aston Villa to Al-Nassr in a deal worth £71 million.

The 21-year-old netted 12 goals in 29 matches for Villa during the previous season, although he started only seven games in the league.

Since transferring to Al-Nassr in January, Duran has scored 12 times in 18 matches.

Fenerbahce announced, “Our club has come to terms with both the player and his former team for Jhon Duran to be part of our roster on a one-year loan.”

“We wish him a successful season while wearing our striped colors.”

Duran, who has contributed three goals in 17 matches for Colombia's national team, previously joined Villa from Chicago Fire for £18 million in January 2023.

He recorded 20 goals across 78 games for Villa, but 61 of those outings were as a substitute, unable to consistently take the first-choice position from English striker Ollie Watkins.

He played a part in Al-Nassr achieving third place in the Saudi Pro League last season. While he is departing, fellow Portuguese forward Cristiano Ronaldo will remain with the team after signing a two-year deal last month.

Fenerbahce, managed by Jose Mourinho, secured second place in the Turkish league last season.
