The 35-year-old athlete is set to conclude his international playing days following Ireland's last match in the Six Nations, which will take place in Rome.
Murray, along with teammates Peter O'Mahony and Cian Healy, who will also bid farewell to Test rugby after the tournament, played his final game for Ireland in Dublin during the defeat against France on Saturday.
Gibson-Park praised Murray, noting that he has secured five Six Nations titles, referring to him as "unbelievable and a great guy."
"He has been one of the top players worldwide for nearly a decade," Gibson-Park remarked, sharing that he moved to Ireland from New Zealand to join Leinster in 2016.
"I used to admire his playing from afar, and when I first got to Ireland, I was taken aback by his level of skill; he was incredibly reliable, whereas I felt I was somewhat unpredictable at the time.
"I definitely looked up to players like him, and being in camp with him has been fantastic. He’s a wonderful person and has certainly positively influenced my career."
Gibson-Park emphasized that Ireland will be driven to perform for Murray, O'Mahony, and Healy, aiming to leave a lasting legacy.
"I feel fortunate to have been teammates with all three of them," he stated.
"It would be great to end on a high note for the players who are stepping away; it was their final game at the Aviva, yet we still have another match to anticipate on Saturday.
"The exciting aspect of this tournament is that there’s still one more game ahead of us, and hopefully, we can achieve a turnaround, so I'm looking forward to that."
