Tottenham's journey to South Korea is becoming a significant aspect of captain Son Heung-min's future, as interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia surrounds the forward.

The outlook for Son at Spurs appears uncertain, particularly with only a year remaining on his contract, attracting attention from teams in the Middle East aiming to benefit from this ambiguity.

However, reliable sources suggest that while there is a possibility of him departing prior to next season, any potential move is expected to be postponed until after the trip to Asia, as his absence could complicate arrangements with the tour organizers.

The club has arranged two friendly matches—one against Arsenal in Hong Kong on July 31, and another against Newcastle in Seoul three days later.

In his home country, the South Korean international is highly revered, and local supporters are eager to see the 32-year-old join the Tottenham squad in southeast Asia.

Summer tours are financially advantageous for Premier League teams, and Son will be vital to enhancing the commercial interests during Tottenham's outing. His participation in various tour-related events has already been planned and agreed upon by the club.

Reports suggest that only a significantly high offer would prompt Tottenham to contemplate selling their captain before the tour.

So far, Spurs have not received any official offers for Son, and it remains uncertain how he will fit into the strategy of new head coach Thomas Frank for the upcoming season.

Frank, who will begin his duties at Tottenham’s Enfield training ground this week, is looking to strengthen the attack this summer.

The club has already finalized the permanent acquisition of Mathys Tel from Bayern Munich and has expressed interest in securing Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo.

It seems likely that discussions regarding Son's future will extend into the closing days of the transfer window, which ends on September 1.

Considering his significance to the club, Son's departure would mark a considerable change.

He has been an essential player for Spurs since his transfer from Bayer Leverkusen in 2015, having netted 173 goals in 454 matches, and is regarded as one of their most pivotal figures during the Premier League era.

His status in the club's history is established, having become the first Tottenham captain in over 40 years to lift a European trophy when they triumphed over Manchester United in the recent Europa League final.
