Jamaican full-back Taylor Hinds has signed with Arsenal as a free agent after her contract with Liverpool came to an end.

The 26-year-old is heading back to the team where her career initially took off before her transfer to Everton in 2018.

Sources confirm she has agreed to a three-year contract and becomes the second signing for the Gunners this summer, following the permanent transfer of England forward Chloe Kelly from her loan.

"This is a full-circle moment for me and I’m thankful to return to a place I considered home in my younger days," Hinds expressed.

"I am eager to begin and to step onto the pitch at Emirates Stadium in front of our amazing fans."

Hinds adds flexibility and competition in defense, along with substantial experience in the Women’s Super League.

Arsenal is eager to complete their transfers early in the window to build upon their success in the Women’s Champions League, anticipating at least one additional signing.

After two years with Everton, Hinds joined Liverpool, where she made 131 appearances over five seasons and scored eight goals.

She played a crucial role in their Women's Championship title victory in 2021-22 and was named vice-captain for Liverpool in 2023.

Arsenal manager Renee Slegers, who guided the team to Champions League success in May, highlighted Hinds as a "versatile player with excellent experience."

"We're thrilled to have Taylor back at Arsenal. I'm looking forward to starting training with her," she added.

Hinds is capable of playing as both a full-back and midfielder and has represented England at youth levels in the Under-17 and Under-20 World Cups before changing her international allegiance to Jamaica, where she debuted against France last October.

On her return to Arsenal, Hinds will don the number 24 jersey.
