The 25-year-old declined an opportunity to transfer to Roma earlier in the transfer window, and there was also interest from another Italian team, Juventus.

Sancho has been on loan with Borussia Dortmund and Chelsea for the last 18 months, yet neither club opted to make the arrangement permanent.

Chelsea incurred a £5m fee to Manchester United for breaking an agreement to acquire the England forward.

Sancho became a Manchester United player for £73m four years back, but his last appearance for the team was in August 2024 during the Community Shield.

His current contract is set to end next summer, though United holds an option to extend it.

Any potential transaction involving Sancho will not be linked to Manchester United's pursuit of Aston Villa's goalkeeper, Emiliano Martinez.

Sources at United have emphasized that they will not be bringing in both Martinez and Royal Antwerp's goalkeeper, Senne Lammens, whom they have also considered.

At this moment, there is uncertainty regarding which player, if any, they will select to enhance their goalkeeping squad.
