Chelsea forward Joao Pedro stated that Paris St-Germain "lost their composure" following the conclusion of Sunday's Club World Cup final.
The 23-year-old Brazilian fell to the ground during a confrontation with PSG manager Luis Enrique, as tensions escalated between the teams after Chelsea triumphed 3-0 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
Luis Enrique later remarked that such incidents were the "outcome of the match's pressure" and that his "goal was to keep the players apart to prevent the situation from deteriorating."
Joao Pedro, who netted Chelsea's third goal, commented: "I don't need to discuss them. Everyone seeks to win the match, and ultimately, I believe they lost their composure.
"But this is football. It has occurred. Now we should savor our victory because we have won the tournament, and that's all that matters.
"I prefer not to dwell on them since you know how it operates. This is football."
The altercations at the final whistle were sparked by PSG's Joao Neves receiving a red card in the dying moments for pulling the hair of Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella.
Luis Enrique, whose team aimed to build on their domestic treble and Champions League victory in 2024-25 with a Club World Cup win, said: "I have no issue sharing my feelings at the game's conclusion under high pressure. It's extremely taxing for all parties involved. Avoiding that is going to be impossible.
"Everyone was engaged. It didn't represent what was best and was the culmination of the match's tension.
"I observed [Chelsea manager Enzo] Maresca along with others, and we had to intervene to separate all the players; I don't know where that stress originated.
"However, this is a scenario we all need to steer clear of, that's for sure. My aim was to separate the players to ensure the situation did not escalate further."
Joao Pedro's lifted finish in the 43rd minute complemented two earlier goals by Cole Palmer, as Chelsea secured their victory in the inaugural expanded Club World Cup.
