The 23-year-old suffered a hamstring injury during Saturday’s home victory over Leeds United, and he is expected to be sidelined for as much as four weeks.
Arsenal’s captain, Martin Odegaard, is a doubt for the upcoming match at Anfield due to a shoulder injury incurred during the win against Leeds.
Odegaard appeared to be in distress when he was substituted in the first half of the 5-0 win, and it has been reported that the former Real Madrid midfielder left the Emirates Stadium with his shoulder immobilized in a sling.
Although the Norway international has not been officially ruled out for the clash against the Premier League champions, there is hope within Arsenal that neither he nor Saka will be out of action for an extended period.
There is particular relief concerning Saka, who spent three months on the sidelines last season due to a hamstring issue.
This season, Arsenal boasts a significantly stronger roster of attacking players, having acquired Viktor Gyokeres, Noni Madueke, and Eberechi Eze during the summer transfer window.
Manager Mikel Arteta also has the likes of Gabriel Martinelli, Leandro Trossard, Ethan Nwaneri, and Max Dowman available to cover for the absences of both Saka and Odegaard.
