The Gunners have made it a priority to secure a left-sided defender this summer, with Ecuadorian international Hincapie rising as a leading option.
According to sources for Sport, Arsenal's recruitment team has closely monitored the 23-year-old.
Hincapie possesses a release clause of 60 million euros (£52 million) and is eager to depart from the German club before the transfer window closes.
Since arriving at Bayer Leverkusen in 2021, he has featured in 166 matches across all competitions and was part of the team that clinched the Bundesliga and the German Cup during the 2023-24 season.
Arsenal has allocated over £200 million for new acquisitions this summer and is now focused on offloading players, with Fabio Vieira, Reiss Nelson, and Oleksandr Zinchenko among those up for transfer.
There has also been some interest in centre-back Jakub Kiwior, with Porto being one of the clubs showing interest.
While Tottenham has been rumored to be interested in Hincapie, sources maintain that he is not a player they are actively pursuing at this time.
