USA midfielder Savannah DeMelo is reported to be "stable and alert" following her collapse during a match for Racing Louisville in the National Women's Soccer League.
The event took place during stoppage time in the first half of Louisville's game against Seattle Reign on Sunday.
At the age of 27, DeMelo received immediate medical attention on the field before being transported to a hospital via ambulance.
Both teams have announced that the goalless match will be resumed at a later date.
"Savannah is stable and alert and receiving the necessary care," the NWSL stated on X.
"Our primary concern is her health and safety. We are maintaining close communication with the medical team from Racing Louisville.
"The NWSL is dedicated to upholding the highest standards of medical care and emergency response at every match."
Earlier in March, DeMelo had to exit a game against Bay FC due to health complications.
In May, DeMelo, who has earned seven caps with the USA national team, disclosed her diagnosis of Graves' disease and hyperthyroidism.
"Sending all our love to Savannah DeMelo and everyone at Racing Lou FC," Seattle Reign shared on X.
"We stand in solidarity with Louisville during this period and are grateful for the support from our fans."
