Arteta in jeopardy if Arsenal do not secure the title now

Unlike the challenges faced by Liverpool, Arsenal appears to be in a strong position to claim the championship for the first time since 2004, having been second for the last three seasons.

Mikel Arteta's team has achieved victories in their last four league matches, maintaining three consecutive clean sheets, with their most recent triumph being a 1-0 win over Crystal Palace on Sunday.

"The squad is sufficiently strong now and I believe they have the experiences that have brought them very close, but I think they are ready to seize the opportunity," stated Manchester United's all-time leading scorer Rooney.

"If they fail to win it now, you're likely to witness a managerial change."

'Mbeumo deserves to be at United'

Rooney's previous team is also experiencing a revival, with a 4-2 victory against Brighton marking their third consecutive win, propelling them to sixth place—equal on points with Manchester City and one ahead of Liverpool.

Part of this success can be attributed to the performance of forward Bryan Mbeumo, who has netted three of his five goals in the last two matches.

Rooney confessed he was skeptical when United signed him over the summer for £65m from Brentford, but he affirmed that the 26-year-old Cameroonian is now meeting expectations.

"His enthusiasm, work ethic, and determination are qualities essential for being a United player. I did express some doubts, but I think what he's demonstrated is that he truly belongs there," Rooney remarked.

"His performance consistency is key; if you're regularly positioning yourself correctly and creating chances, you'll end up scoring 20 goals a season."
