The 34-year-old midfielder was left out of the lineup for the matches against Kazakhstan and Canada earlier this month, having made just one substitute appearance in the last six months while he healed from his injury.

However, Ramsey has since been active, starting in three matches and coming off the bench in two for his club Pumas UNAM in Mexico.

Wales welcomes back the Leeds United duo of Ethan Ampadu and Joe Rodon, along with Jay Dasilva from Coventry City and Nathan Broadhead, a forward from Wrexham, after their absence in the Kazakhstan and Canada games due to injuries.

Leeds winger Dan James has been included in the squad, despite some reports of a knee issue, as Wales awaits an evaluation from his club.

Wales will compete against England in a friendly match at Wembley on Thursday, October 9, before they host Belgium in a World Cup qualifier at Cardiff City Stadium the following Monday.

Wales still maintains a chance to qualify for the 2026 World Cup without playoff matches, but currently sitting third in Group J requires favorable outcomes in other games.

North Macedonia leads the group with 11 points and three matches remaining, just one point ahead of Wales and Belgium, who are ranked above Craig Bellamy's team based on goal difference and have a game in hand on both opponents.

The top team in the group secures automatic qualification for the finals, while the second-place team earns a spot in the 16-team playoffs scheduled for March.

Even if Wales ends up in third place, they have a strong likelihood of making the playoffs due to their victory in the Nations League group last year.

Nevertheless, to qualify automatically, they must win all three remaining matches and hope that Belgium drops points more than once, including during their match in Cardiff.
